I am against trade restrictions that limit or ban certain countries from participating in international free trade and the global market place. I believe that all countries should be allowed to buy and sell products equally for many reasons. First, international free trade could assist underdeveloped nations in becoming stronger, more independent countries as well as freeing the citizens from the harsh realities felt from poverty. It is my strong opinion that in this day and age, there should not be third world nations that are still struggling to obtain necessities like clean drinking water or food. If these nations were allowed to buy and sell products in the same manner as the rest of the world, I believe that a difference in the quality of life would be experienced for these nations. Second, I believe that international trade restrictions cause unnecessary turmoil between countries which can ultimately lead to war and other extreme acts of hostility and outrage. Telling one country or many countries that they are not allowed to engage in trade, can cause ill feelings between countries that were in many cases allies to start. Lastly, it is my strong opinion that we all inhabit this planet together; therefore we all deserve the same chance to experience the best life possible. Trade restrictions allow for some countries to over power others and that is simply like being the school yard bully. Free trade keeps countries and companies alike competitive which is good for the consumer.
